Great lakes war ball club
Wonderful ball head war club in untouched original condition. Circa 1840-1880. The overall length is 17 3/4" and the ball head is approximately 2 7/8" in diameter and is made of a softwood with its original surface, including a reddish surface on the haft part and a black resin stain or paint on the ball head. There is a deep multi-layered unmolested patinae. It is beautifully designed and executed with medial ridges on either "flat" side of the haft and the a beautiful "S" arc on the upper profile. The lower profile is double arced and has four suspension holes. This club would be considered a Phase II or III era club as defined by John Baldwin in his book "Indian War Clubs of the American Frontier". **SOLD**
