AMERICAN BOWIE KNIFE WITH ORIGINAL SHEATH

This has been in my personal collection for over 20 years and is a large bayonet point Bowie knife with its original incise carves sheath, German silver mounts and its rare original leather frog. The knife measures 15 5/8 inches overall with 10 inch bayonet point blade. This knife and sheath are very well preserved and was made circa 1850 by a very competent bladesmith, retaining its razor sharp edges. This knife sports its original rosewood scales fastened by four steel pins.

Condition: Knife:  Excellent, with very little light peppering near its tip.

                 Sheath: Good, with the leather with cracking but complete.
