xxSOLDxx AMERICAN FLINTLOCK PISTOL, F&I WAR

American Copy of British Light Model 1759 Pistol

This pistol is an American made loose copy of the British Light Model 1759, using some British parts such as the round 8 1/2", .62cal barrel.  British proofs at the breech with a square barrel tang.  The overall length of the pistol is 15 inches.  The full walnut stock has tight curl running from the lock area down the grip to the brass trade buttcap.  The remaining brass mounts are purely American simplified copies of the British Dragoon pistol in use in the British military from ca. 1730-1760.  The flat brass sideplate is a scaled down Brown Bess second model sideplate.  The original flintlock has no visible exterior markings but has double line border engraving around the edges of the lockplate.  A small "B*A" is stamped on the interior of the lockplate.  Nice American made "Committee of Safety" pistol which could very well have seen action in the American Revolution. **SOLD**
