xxSOLDxx Angstat Rifle Restored
Circa 1820
Folksy Angstat Kutztown rifle, made late in the flintlock period (1820ish). Great Angstat folk art carving and inlays. The rifle measures 57 3/4 inches overall with a 43 inch octagon to round .50cal barrel. Folky treatment of the simply engraved patchbox which is two piece with four brass stars inlaid on the sides of the patchbox lid in lieu of sideplates. The patchbox lid and the hunter's star inlay on the cheekpiece have the typical Angstat "snowflake" engraved on them. This rifle was probably made by Jacob Angstat.**SOLD**
Condition: Relic. Original from the lock back (including finish) but restored from the flintlock forward.
