Early to Mid-19th Century Hand Forged Modified Clip Point

Nice early 19th century Bowie knife, entirely blacksmith forged but very well made in a rustic sort of way.  Nice multi-layered patina.  15" overall length with a 9 1/2" modified clip point blade, 1 5/8" wide, 1/4" thick at the medial spine.  Medial spine running the full length of the blade on either side with a 3" false edge at the tip.  Hand forged and filed iron crossguard with a 5" stag grip.  Through tang which is peened over the iron butt cap which conformes to the stag grip in cross section.  Nice early knife with no apologies.**SOLD**

Condition:  Very good.  No evidence of cleaning.  The stag grip is some what loose.
