American or French Copy of Model 1733
Full walnut stocked uncarved flintlock pistol without any visible markings but roughly fits the pattern of the French model 1733 cavalry pistol. The type used in both the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. The flintlock is an early version without a frizzen bridle as contrasted to the actual Model 1733 which had a frizzen bridle. This pistol has an octagon to round 11 inch .75 cal. barrel with a square tang, whereas the French model 1733 had a 12" barrel and was .69 cal. Iron mounts which are roughly copied, scaled down versions of the brass mounts of the French model 1733 cavalry pistol. Iron stirrup butt cap. Pistol measures 18 1/2" overall. **SOLD**
