xxSOLDxx John Armstrong signed Kentucky Rifle
Original percussion, neatly signed, with engraved silver inlays.
A late John Armstrong original percussion rifle with a nicely figured tiger maple stock, 4 piece engraved brass patchbox, and 13 engraved German silver inlays. This full stock Armstrong rifle measures 60 3/4" overall with a octagon to round 45 1/8" barrel, signed "John Armstrong" in cursif on a brass inlayed plaque on the top flat of the barrel. Old and/or original surface on the stock. This rifle is uncarved but has neatly executed though worn engraving on all brass and silver surfaces, including a neat "S" and "C" scrolled silver inlay around the barrel tang which is the same design as the usual carving associated with Armstrong (see Kindig Pg. 445-452). All of the features of this rifle are typical late Armstrong features including the stock architecture, patchbox design, silver inlays, and the engraving. **SOLD**
Condition: Very Good. Well used and worn but lovingly taken care of late Armstrong.
