xxSOLDxx KENTUCKY PISTOL signed "D. Liddle"

Western Pennsylvania School Circa 1835

A very nice walnut full stock flintlock Kentucky pistol signed by D. Liddle (or Little) who was born in 1815 and worked in Pittsburgh.  Daniel Little is listed in the Pittsburgh directory in 1850 as a gunsmith.  Liddle would have completed his apprenticeship around 1835 and this pistol dates to this early period.  It is in original flintlock with a high grade roller frizzen and a reinforced cock. The cast brass mountings are American made (probably by Liddle himself). The pistol measures 15 1/2" overall and the full octagon rifled barrel measures 10 1/2".**SOLD**

Condition:  Excellent.  The stock is intact with no missing or added wood restoration whatsoever.  The flintlock is in its original configuration.  There is a tight surface crack which is maybe a sixteenth of an inch deep running back from the rear trigger loop.
