xxSOLDxx KENTUCKY RIFLE, SWIVEL BREECH TYPE

This swivel breech rifle measures 49 inches overall with 34 1/8 inch .50 caliber rifled barrels. The rifle is in pristine condition rifle is attributed to Conrad Horn who worked in Luzerne County Pennsylvania in the second and third quarters of the 19th century. Beautiful tiger maple stock in original, excellent finish. This has a fool-proof levered swivel release on the reverse side. It has a back action lock in original percussion. Although this rifle is not signed, it has one of Horn's signature features, namely an American Indian in profile on the 4 piece patchbox finial. It is brass mounted which includes a neatly made and inlaid 4 piece patchbox with pierced finial, brass butt plate and toe plate with a matching "Indian profile" finial, as well as two brass side panels along each side of the barrels with integral entry pipes. The brass triggerguard has neat filings with a "Lehigh County type" stud in the forward loop and nice cameo filing at the rear finial of the triggerguard. The lock functions at both half and full cock and the swivel is tight with the lever lock snapping in place crisply.
