xxSOLDxx MATCH PAIR SIGNED KENTUCKY PISTOLS

Each Identical and Signed "J * Troxell"

Beautiful matched pair of Kentucky pistols each signed in script "J * Troxell" on the top flat of their full octagon barrels.  These lovely pistols are in pristine condition with matching full tiger maple stocks, brass mountings and original flintlocks, never having been converted to percussion.  The pistols measure 14 1/4 inches overall with the barrels measuring 8 7/8 inches.  The stocks are so closely matched that I suspect that they were hewn from the same blank.  This pair features unusual and attractive brass lock plates which date them circa 1800-1815.  Troxell worked in eastern Ohio near the Pennsylvania border.

**SOLD**

Condition:  Outstanding and original with no restoration and having original wood surface.  The barrel metal and lock metal remain "bright".

Literature:  Featured in "The Kentucky Pistol" by Chandler & Whisker, Pg 149, Item #130.
