xxSOLDxx Percussion Kentucky Pistol Circa 1840-1850

Possibly Southern Origin

Nice tiger maple half stock with pleasing architecure.  This well made tiger maple half stock pistol is mounted in neatly engraved German silver and has features which point to a Southern origin such as the cast pewter nose cap, a German silver capbox inlaid in the butt, and stamped circles around the muzzle.  It carries it original "Dayton" signed percussion lock.  The overall length is 13 1/2 inches with the full octagon rifled barrel measuring 9 inches.  The barrel still retains strong rifling in about .25cal. **SOLD**

Condition:  Excellent with no alterations or flaws.  Deep tiger maple original surface to the stock.
