Nice Screw Tip Powder Horn Southern with Some York Co. Features Original Tip

Nice screw tip powder horn attributed to the South by Art DeCamp.  The horn measures 14" around the curve with a 2 5/8" butt.  The horn is in untouched condition with the original screw tip as some of the turned beauty lines on the tip are warn away just where the horn exhibits wear.  It is a right hand carry.  It has owner's initials of "B*S" and a date of 1836 or 1856.  The walnut butt is attached to the horn with hand forged iron pins and the hand forged strap staples are original as well.  Deep dark untouched original surface to both the horn and the butt.  NOW $400.00

Condition:  Excellent for its age and use.  This horn has an nice original untouched aspect with some in-period small chips to the walnut butt and the screw tip.  It also has a 1 " split running from one of the forged butt pins (pictured).
