xxSOLDxx Signed John Moll Jr. Kentucky Rifle

Untouched and excellent condition signed John Moll Jr. flintlock full stock rifle in tiger maple.  Architecturally, this rifle is extremely light and graceful (even for a Moll)  with a double arc or stepped wrist and graceful Roman nose typical of the Lehigh Valley in its Golden Age.  The rifle measures 58" overall with a 42 1/2" full octagon barrel in 48 caliber.  The brass mountings have a pleasing untouched mustard color with Lehigh features of a sheathed heel return and a stud in the forward triggerguard.  The typical Moll two piece patchbox with a modified trefoil finial is border engraved.  This rifle dates probably circa 1830.   **SOLD**

Condition:  Excellent for its age with original wood and metal finish and its original roller frizzen lock with a reinforced cock.
