xxSOLDxxPennsylvania Kentucky Rifle attributed to William Shenner

Circa 1790

This early Shenner attributed rifle is in excellent untouched condition.  The rifle measures 58 5/8" overall with a nicely figured tiger maple full stock with raised and incise carving.  Beautiful raised carving around the barrel tang in the style usually associated with William Shenner.  The carving behind and forward of the cheekpiece, around the wrist, forward of the patchbox and behind the rear ramrod ferrule is elaborately incise carved.  The mountings are brass with the four piece patchbox nicely engraved with roccoco scrolls and the original owners initials "M R".  The 43" octagon barrel is fastened to the stock with barrel keys with eight brass oval escutcheons mounting the barrel keys.**SOLD**

Condition:  Excellent.  Old wood surface, deep mottled iron surfaces and mustard yellow brass mounts.  I believe this to be original flintlock.  The wood is completely intact with no repairs whatsoever.
