xxSOLDxxPIPE TOMAHAWK-Eastern Early 19th Century
Bowl Made From Rifle Barrel
This is a very interesting pipe tomahawk in pristine condition with its original ash haft in very dry untouched surface. The iron head measures 9 inches from blade to top of pipe bowl and has a steel insert. I would date this pipe tomahawk circa 1820-1850 and eastern in origin with early western influences. The hand forged head is very unique with the tulip shaped bowl being made from a .50 caliber rifle barrel and the barrel stem is high and octagon faceted--very unique. It has a raised cheveroned saddle with a raised panel where the blade meets the eye. A unique original wonderful pipe axe from the first half of the 19th century. The haft is adorned with three early brass tacks and has a small beaded drop which may or may not be original.**SOLD**
Condition: Excellent and original.
