Excellent Condition Incise Carved and Silver Inlaid Flintlock Rifle signed "S.Miller".
This signed "S.Miller" full tiger maple stocked Kentucky Rifle dates to the 1820's and has a beautiful engraved and pierced four piece brass patchbox typical of Simon Miller of Hamburg PA. It measures 57 1/4" overall with a 41 5/8" full octagon barrel. The full stock is strong tiger maple with an old mellow red-brown surface. It is beautifully incise carved behind the cheekpiece and has 15 silver inlays, including a beautifully rendered and engraved Federal eagle above the cheekpiece. The high quality trade flintlock is market "Warranted" and has a roller frizzen mechanism. I believe it is original flint and not reconverted. **SOLD**
Condition: Excellent. Beautiful patinated tiger maple full stock. No missing wood and the only flaw on the stock is a bit of filler where the middle ferrule pin is. Original flintlock. Script signature on the top flat of the barrel "S. Miller".
