Silver Mounted Officers Hanger, Circa 1775-1785
Very attractive silver mounted American made stirrup hilted officer's hanger measures 30 1/4 inches overall with a 25 1/2 inch triple fuller blade. The grip is attractively spiral carved bone with unmarked thin silver mounts with the silver pommel exhibiting a small capstan. The blade appears to be an American made three fuller type, typically found on revolutionary war made swords. The silver mounts are made of thin sheet silver, typical of American manufacture.
